Keyworks Association Has Addressed Food Insecurity And Hospitality Employment Issues In Englewood, Woodlawn, Auburn Gresham, Chicago Lawn For Over Two Decades.

Our Community Impact

Food Distribution

Keyworks Volunteers began distributing bags of groceries to low-income residents from the Englewood United Methodist Church in Englewood in the mid-nineties. They continued the practice as Lenore’s Kitchen Catering was able to donate to Keyworks and provide foodstuffs for preparation and distribution by Keyworks volunteers.

Healthy Meals

The availability of healthy meals is vitally important in neighborhoods plagued with food insecurity. Keyworks volunteers regularly prepared meals on Sundays after church services for the hungry and homeless and also scheduled days during the week when meals were served.

Hospitality Training

Keyworks partnered with Dawson Skill Center and the Washburne Culinary Institute to provide real world hospitality training and experience to unemployed Englewood residents to help them launch careers in the hospitality industry. This program was the fulfillment of a long-time dream of Keyworks founder, Lillia Key.

Keyworks Expansion: LKC

n 2022 Keyworks Association acquired access to the LKC Gallery, the new investment venture of Lenore’s Kitchen Catering Inc. LKC Gallery offered space for Keyworks Food Distribution, community events and an upcoming shared kitchen.
